FISHING Captain Carlos loves to fish so much that he is offering his fishing charters for some of the best prices on Guam. The type of fishing offered is seasonal. Carlos has worked as a commercial fisherman so when the fishing is tough he knows where to look for the fish. TROLLING The best season for deep sea trolling is October through April when the Mahi-Mahi(Dorado) and Wahoo(Ono) are running. Trolling can be be booked in the summer months for catching various types of tuna (typically bonita and yellow fin) or billfish (marlin and sailfish). When trolling, Captain Carlos runs 5 lines on 12/0 and 9/0 Penn Senator reels.
NIGHT-TIME MACKERAL FISHING If you like to fish, but you don't like the heat, then night-time mackeral fishing could be just the right fit for your and your friends. The Night-time mackeral fishing is also a good choice for those who would rather party on the boat listening to great classic rock instead of sitting in a bar. Again, six guests may come aboard, however, probably on 4 or 5 will fish at one time so that no one gets hooked during all the excitement. Once we get a school of mackeral around the boat and start pulling them in, we can put one back out as bait on a flagline. The flagline attracts bigger predators like dog-tooth tuna, skip-jacks, and barricuda. The night-time fishing charters can start at 5:30 pm if you want to troll on the way to the fishing spot, or at 6:30 pm if you would like to just drive straight to our favorite fishing grounds and put out lines. NEW RATES (Effective for charters booked after January 15, 2012) We accept cash or traveler's checks upon the completion of the charter. Night-Time Mackeral Fishing (During Calm Weather Summer Months)
WHAT IS INCLUDED Heritage Boat Charters does not rent seats. We rent the whole boat to private parties. Our boat, "Heritage", can accommodate up to six guests per charter. Each charter includes a knowledgeable coast guard certified captain, reels, baits and/or lures, ice, and fish boxes. Please feel free to bring your favorite beverages(alcohol is permitted) and snacks. It is highly recommended that you bring sunglasses,a hat, and a medium-sized cooler to transport your cleaned fish home in. *Please note that there is a 100lb catch take-home limit. DEPARTURE TIMES Departure times are currently 6:00 am for morning charters. Afternoon 4-hour charters will depart at 2:00 pm. All departures are from Agat Marina C Dock, unless otherwise arranged with the captain. TRANSPORTATION The Agat Marina is located on the southern side of the island. It is a 5 minute drive south from the "Big Navy" base in Agat. It is a 30 minute drive south from the majority of hotels which are located in Tumon. There are two options for tourists to get to Agat Marina. The first option is to rent a car starting at about $30 a day. The second option is for military to arrange for transportation through MWR. We do not recommend taking a taxi cab because fares are very high on island and can cost up to $90 for one-way transportation from Tumon.
